Cody , Mase and I spent the morning at the cinemateque francaise at the Stanley Kubrick ( Famous film director of Clockwork orange, Space odyseey 2001, Eyes wide shut, Full metal jacket , The shining) It was a fascinating couple of hours looking at props, video and photos from his movies. Chris went in the opposite direction to Roland Garros and took the guided tour. He got to touch the clay on centre court and sit at the winners interview podium. We met up with Frank and his daughter Carinne for Lunch in St germain. We had met this family 2 yrs ago on the junk in Halong Bay , Vietnam and Chris had kept in touch. They travelled in from their home in Normandy to have lunch with us which was very nice.
After lunch we fitted in a visit to Notre Dame which is located just a short walk from our apartment. We queued for about half an hour to get inside the cathedral ( We are becoming professional queuers!!)
The interior is very gothic and has a creepy atmosphere even with about 500 people in there!!
After another delicious French bistro meal followed yet again by dessert ( who can resist Chocolate fondant ,creme brulee or creme caramels) Not to mention all those gorgeous pastry and gelato shops,
Chris and I headed to the Eiffel tower at about 10 pm ( The kids had crashed) walking along the Seine river at sunset was beautiful. Everyone in Paris was out picnicing in groups along the banks of the river and on the walking bridges.we arrived at the Eiffel tower at 10.45 to see it lit up like solid gold. The sky was still not completely black even at 11 pm!! We stopped by the Alma tunnel which is where lady Di's car crashed. There is a memorial right by the entrance to the tunnel. Off to bed at midnight in Paris !! Off to Barcelona tomorrow.
